I've been a fan of Jazmine Sullivan since I heard the song "I'm in Love With Another Man" on her MySpace. She's a 21 year-old musical phenom with a smoky voice reminiscent of a young (sane) Lauryn Hill. Her first video for "Need You Bad" showcases her amazing vocals as well as her stunning beauty. Love it!

Say What?: Sean Garrett

Sean "The Pen" Garrett is busy promoting his first album Turbo 919, so he's been doing a lot of interviews. Sean's penned many hits for artists like Beyonce, Britney Spears and Chris Brown, so a little bit of swagger is expected, but this might be a bit too much.
The album is called Turbo 919 and the album is what you call in-cred-ible! I wouldn't even play around! (laughs) The record, I mean, I would say is definitely the best album since Confessions. It's a R&B pop album that really gives you the sensibility of Off The Wall.
Oh Really, Sean? Because you are no Michael Jackson. Hell, you're not even a Ne-Yo. But "Grippin" is hella catchy.
Ashanti Performs on The Tonight Show
I thought Ashanti's next single was supposed to be "Body On Me." Oh well, I think I like this one better, but I still wonder if "Good, Good" was the best choice from The Declaration. I haven't heard the album all the way through, so I really don't know, but I'm worried for Ashanti this time.

Ray J "Gifts"
I just don't know what to say about Ray J. Yes, he is a pervert, but he does make catchy songs, and as much as we like to hate on artists like Ray J. It's not that easy to make a hit song, and "Sexy Can I" was certainly a hit. Now, I really don't know about this dance craze that he's trying to start, but who knows this could be another hit from his fourth album All I Feel.

New Teairra Mari
I used to love "Make Her Feel Good." That song was too grown for me and Teairra Mari at the time, but it was still hot fire. Now the girl Jay Z used to call "The Young Princess of the Roc," is back with a new song "No, No" and some pretty entertaining stories about her days at Roc-A-Fella (and her unceremonious boot from the label).
Teairra Mari - "No No" (listen/download)
Here's an interview of Teairra with B. Scott where she talks about getting dropped from Roc-A-Fella

Get Up On That Dwele

I'll be honest. I slept on Dwele until late last year. It was his performance on the standout track from Kanye's much-hyped "Graduation" that made me take note of the r&b crooner. I looked him up, and I pleasantly surprised with what I found. It wasn't the usual tepid neo-soul, but his lyrics are witty and his style is so laid back you can't help but chill to his flow.
I remember watching BET Jams a few years back and turning the channel everytime his song came on, but "Find a Way" was kind of a jam and now I'm sorry I missed out. He recently got dropped from his major label deal, but he's back with a new CD called Soul Survivor due in stores June 24. The lead single "I'm Cheatin" showcases that trademark wit, and I can't wait to see what's next for the Motown native.

New Kelly Rowland Video "Comeback"
Album rereleases are all the rage these days, and Kelly Rowland is gearing up for the rerelease of her sophomore album "Miss Kelly" the new version called the "Miss Kelly Diva Deluxe Edition" with the release of another video. This one is called "Comeback," and it features Kelly in some fairly provocative attire.
I personally, think she looks fabulous, but I'm still not convinced if this will be enough to restore interest in her solo project.
Ms. Kelly Diva Deluxe Edition will be available for purchase on May 12.
New Music from Usher

A remix of Usher's latest hit "Love in This Club" has been released with a new verse from T.I.. Personally, I usually don't like "remixes" that are pretty much identical to the original. I don't think T.I. adds much to the track. sidenote: is it me or does TIP sound a bit different on this track? There's something about his voice that just isn't the same. Usher's forthcoming album Here I Stand is scheduled to hit stores May 27th.
New Music From Chris Brown
Chris Brown is back with a new single to promote the rerelease of his sophomore effort Exclusive. I'm not sure if I'm feeling this track. It seems to me like everyone is trying to follow in the vein of Rihanna, and it's not a good look. Chris should go back to the soulful stuff that really showcases his vocals, and leave the overly produced stuff to Britney Spears and Rih-Rih.
The Rerelease of Chris' latest album Exclusive will be available on June 3rd
